Research: Double the biopsy tissue
Licensed Products Current Research Management Contact Home	The Twin Sample biopsy needle harvests two samples from the same site, one for conventional pathology and the second frozen for molecular diagnosis. Some methods of molecular diagnosis require frozen tissue, because the formalin used on routine samples destroys the messenger RNA. With the Twin Sample needle, if the pathologist finds tumor tissue in the biopsy, the exact matching tissue can be tested in the modern assay. The needle design is complete and prototypes are being manufactured. Prototypes can be reserved for clinical trials now. We anticipate licensing the worldwide patent rights to a leading needle distributor.
